INTERNATIONAL EXPORT AIR FREIGHT FORWARDING

Contract rates with prime carriers with minimum transit time and space commitments give us the edge over our competition and ensure total satisfaction to our customers.
In the last 25 years, air cargo movements have increased to such an extent that they have now become major factors in the economics of international trade.
Today, Jeena & Co. is amongst the largest Air Cargo agents in India. Jeena also helps its customers save large amounts of freight by proper guidance, procedures, consolidation, groupage, chartering etc. Jeena has adequate warehousing facilities for their air-cargo too.

IMPORT AIR and SEA CONSOLIDATIONS

We have break bulk facilities at all our locations.
In this section, we would like to list certain criteria which are specific to doing forwarding business with India which are as follows :

  • No COD shipments are accepted.
  • For free house delivery, all customs dues, taxes and handling charges must be received by us in advance.
  • Import Air Consolidation ¨ All trans-shipments must be only via Bombay.
  • Remittance

In order for us to "guarantee remittance" to our foreign counter parts within 30 days, we must receive the following documents along with consolidation :

Note : For 30 days guarantee begins from the day Importer collects Delivery Order.

  3. Cargo Manifest
  4. Consolidators
  5. Invoice
  6. Credit Note.
  7. Agreement

Note : Please note that over and above these documents, an agreement between both the consolidators and ourselves must be in existence without which no remittance can be made by our bankers.

INTERNATIONAL SEA FREIGHT FORWARDING

We have entered into service contracts with several steamer lines providing the best value for money for our customers. We are amongst the very few who are operating weekly consolidation services to Hamburg , Felixstowe and New York. We also operate fortnightly consolidation services to other destinations such as South Africa.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE

All our branches are well equipped with qualified personnel to ensure speedy clearance of goods.

EXHIBITIONS & TRADE FAIRS

Since the past 5 years we have been appointed as the official freight forwarders at India's largest leather exhibition. We are involved in the total movement - from packing and custom clearing the consignment at the point of origin to transporting it to the destination and necessary customs clearance at the destination, unpacking it and displaying it at the exhibition.

We also handle shipments for several other exhibitions in the country.
It is a matter of great pride and significance for the Delhi branch for having participated in making arrangements for transportation and clearance of the goods of foreign countries pavilions in various exhibitions and trade fairs held at Delhi. Starting with the Industrial Fair, 1955; International Agricultural Fair, 1960; Asia '72 and other fairs including private exhibitions like British Aerospace exhibition, British Scientific Equipment Exhibition, etc.-- Our Delhi Branch can boast of its accomplishments in transporting and clearing exhibition goods for foreign exhibitions, participating in such major fairs as Industrial Fair 1955, International Agricultural Fair 1960, Asia' 72, the British Aerospace Exhibition, to name a few. In a way, it has also entered the film industry, by offering assistance in the import and export of film equipment for notable movies like "Queenie" and "Mountbatten - The Last Viceroy".

Jeena Delhi made a modest contribution in the film Industry by arranging the import and export of film equipment, film reels, cosmetics etc. Jeena's made arrangement for notable films like 'TIGER', 'GUIDE', 'WAY TO KATHMANDU', 'MOUNTBATTEN - LAST VICEROY', 'QUEENIE' and many more.

Amongst a series of exhibitions successfully handled by our Bangalore branch, one worthy of mention, was the Rolls Royce Exhibition Project.

PROJECTS

Our offices are well equipped to handle project cargo and over dimensional cargo. We have handled several Thermal power projects, Hydro power projects and Telecommunications projects for the Government of India , Nepal and Bhutan. In these, we have dealt with several multinational companies like Siemens, Mitsui Corporation & others.

Among the most prestigious cases the Calcutta branch has handled in recent years are import jobs of 15,000 metric tonnes urea for M/S. Agriculture Inputs Corporation, HIS MAJESTY GOVERNMENT OF NEPAL, Kathmandu and export project jobs for paper mill plants at Thailand and Indonesia.
This included clearing, forwarding and transporting equipment meant for National Thermal Power Corporation's Ramagundam Super Thermal Project (3 x 200 MV). This involved transportation from the port of Vizag to the site at Ramagundam in Andhra Pradesh about 750 kms away. The office has handled material and equipment ranging from bag-cargo to heavy-lift including three 108 tonnes Boiler Drums and three 232 tonnes Alternator Stators.

QUALITY INSPECTION FACILITIES

We are managing Quality Inspection facilities for some of our customers in Bombay and Delhi and will soon be doing so for our customers in Bangalore. This facility comprises of an area of approximately 5000 sq. ft. within which is housed necessary equipment for carrying out inspection for the garment trade. The advantage here is that the buyer asks all his suppliers to send the goods in this Inspection Centre. The final quality checks are done before the despatch of material and, therefore, all rejection if any are done in India rather than the buyers receiving the cargo. This saves time, money, communication, banking charges etc. for the buyers as well as the shippers. The inspection centers are fully airconditioned, dust free and insect free too, to protect and maintain the quality of garments. The entire infrastructure is provided by our Organisation and managing this facility is done by us.

We are today providing and also managing facilities for complete quality controls for garment exports as per the requirements of some of our international clients.

GARMENTS-ON-HANGERS (GOH)

In keeping up with the innovations in packing and transportation Jeena has introduced its own GOH facility at Delhi & Chennai to assist clients in storing garments-on-hanger at their transit warehouses. Instead of the conventional packing of garments in flat-boxes (of corrugated cardboard) the garments are supplied by the manufacturer on hangers and covered by a polythene bag. These garments- on -hangers are then loaded into both Sea-containers (which can accomodate 12000/20000 pcs)as well as in Aircraft-containers (which can carry up to 4000 pcs).Both types of containers are fitted with metal bars which run along the length of the containers from which nylon ropes are hung.The ropes are "knotted" approximately 6" to 10" apart and four to six hangers are normally suspended from these knots.

The various advantages of GOH are as under :

  • Garments transported on Hangers do not crease, hence ironing cost at destination is saved
  • The containers can be moved directly into the Buyer's warehouse without intermediate handling
  • Cost saving in eliminating card board packs and further wrapping
  • Cost saving in the unit cost of transportation per garment.

WAREHOUSING

Jeena today has over 1,00,000 sq. ft. of warehousing facilities to store goods in custody for their various clients and banks who have implicit faith in them to meet their requirements.

MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT OPERATOR (MTO)

Jeena & Company is one of the few Indian Forwarding Companies to be granted the MTO License. MTO activity has been recently permitted by the Government of India, Ministry of Surface Transportation. Jeena has taken the appropriate Insurance Policy with T.T. Club to operate as an MTO.

NVOCC

Since the past 3 years we have been aggressively selling our NVOCC activities along with our overseas counterparts mainly in Europe and have seen this activity grow in large volumes. We have been able to develop these services to countries where partners have been very proactive.
