Realizing India’s full potential in the world markets and with India likely to dominate trade with North America, the Port Of Halifax, Canada through its local partner, Jeena & Company signed a comprehensive MOU with the Chennai Port Trust on 29th January 2009 for co-operation in Maritime transportation, port development and mutual promotion of the two ports.

• Jeena Chennai handled a prestigious Import Project cargo for the construction of a 100 million litres per day water desalination plant of the Chennai Metro Water & Sewerage Board to be set up in Chennai. The plant is the first in Chennai and the largest such plant in the country.

• Our Projects Team headed by Mr. Prakash Asnani and ably assisted by Ms. Shama Mathew, handled the following projects successfully.

• Spray Engineering Devices Ltd – Total Logistics involving Stuffing & Custom clearance by Sea and Air shipments.

• Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd – Import of Automobile Dyes.

• Bindal Paper Ltd - Import of Machinery from Hamburg to Mumbai

• Herrenknecht ( Asia ) Ltd – Export of Tunneling Equipment from Mumbai to Sri Racha Port , Thailand

The staff from Corporate & Mumbai Airfreight offices once again participated in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon Dream Run held in January 2009. Supporting “Peace & Harmony” and proudly representing Jeena, the team very generously, donated the participation fees reimbursed to them to Katgara Foundation.

• Mr. Ramesh Mehra, General Manager, Jeena Delhi, has now donned the mantle of Chief Marketing Officer – India and will be heading the restructured Industry vertical concepts in our marketing framework.

• After a thorough experience in operations and sales Mr. Eddy Batty has now taken over the position of All India Sales Manager – Outbound. His responsibilities have now been competently taken over by Mr. Sathish Singh, Manager, Business Development – Outbound.

• Mr. P K Koul, & Mr. Yadvendra Singh at our Delhi Office have taken over additional responsibilities in export and import sea clearance and consolidation and have been re-designated as Manager – Airfreight and Manager – Seafreight respectively.

• After successfully handling FedEx activities within Jeena, Mr. Manoj Motiwala, who has been the Jeena face for FedEx, has now been entrusted with the responsibility of developing door to door business with Parcel Force and other network partners.

• Mr. Behram Phirozshah who has also been successfully handling the FedEx activities at Delhi since the year 2000 with the highest volumes from all India origins, has taken over from Manoj.

• Mr. S. Jairam who has been ably handling our logistics activities has now focused on the Auto industry to begin with and will shoulder new responsibilities of marketing of our products to the Engineering sector as Head - Engineering Vertical.

• Mr. Francis Fernandes who has contributed in various positions ranging from desk work to CFS operations has now been promoted to Manager Co-ordination All India. With a good experience in practical operations and Commercial activities, Francis will undeniably do justice to his job.
